I Survived The Slaughter

I went to Slaughterama on Belle Isle on Saturday. I was definitely one of the oldest people in the crowd and knew no one (couldn't find RVABlogs' Ross), but heard of the event and had to attend because it was something different. Very different.

No matter, because everyone was having fun anyway and it did not matter if you were a young veteran of the series or the scene. All were welcome. I even saw some rafters and other regular Belle Islers swing by for a look at the show. And what a show it was.

Slaughterama is a bike festival but one you've never seen, heard of, or probably even imagined. It has to be seen to be believed and mixes imagination and fun with a dash of crazy. There were bikes of all types and homemade designs and the riders fearless.

I grabbed some video before I had to bolt to bar tend a Final Four Party that cut short the entertainment value but left me long on memories.

This video is from the Six Pack Attack - which is a cross between the Revenge of the Nerds "Olympics" scene and Breaking Away. But much more frightening.
