Last Call For Bogart's Back Room
This week marks the final chance you get to one of Richmond's best back rooms and dens of local music, dim lighting, and unique vibe.
Bogart's Back Room is closing up shop and moving over to a new spot on Cary St. near Granby St. and no matter how cool and nice the new spot will be, it won't ever match the current configuration.
From the hump staircase you have to climb and descend to enter, not to mention the abovementioned dim light and vibe unmatched by any other club in River City, it is an experience even if you don't like it, you can at least say you once visited it.
Picture a dark back room where political bosses would meet and plot, or jazz afficianados sit quietly imbibing on gin and cigarettes, or you have to strain to see across the room to see who is coming or going. In other words - cool.
Bogart's threw their Customer Appreciation night last night but I could not attend (I was at The National seeing The National). But they do have some good local talent this week for the curtain call, with the highlights being the Moossa show on Thursday night and John Winn on Friday.
They don't have a web site but you can click here and type Bogart in the Search box for the details.
